Quick Review of Surgery is written for medical students to understand and grip the content in a short period. It has important content for medical students at an initial level from history to basic requirements, basic surgical skills, ethics and communication skills. It also includes general topics and viva questions important from an examination point of view. This book is easy for revision before the examination from summary boxes and pictures. It can be used in academic institutes.
A brief introduction of the author:
Prof. Dr. Shahida Parveen Afridi graduated from CMC in 1986. She joined as a Lecturer at Jinnah Sindh Medical University initially. She completed her postgraduation in Surgery from College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan in 1998, Staff Development Teacher Training course from Higher Education Commission in 2006 and CHPE in Health Profession Education from Dow University of Health Sciences. She has served at Dow University of Health Sciences from 2005-2019 in different academic positions ranging from a teacher to a Professor of Surgery. During her academic career, she conducted many hands-on workshops as an organizer and course director. She also introduced MOCK TOACS exam at Dow University. She has twenty-five research papers to her credit in different national and international research journals. Currently, she is serving as a Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery at Kharadar General Hospital, Karachi and is involved in healthcare innovation at KGH Hospital.
